Congressman Brad Sherman meets with composer, producer, and lead vocalist for the rock group Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan. As the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call reported, the two hit it off on Capitol Hill, when Corgan was testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on legislation to compensate artists for radio play.
Before posing questions to witnesses, Sherman bonded with Corgan over their similar hairstyle. "I want to thank you for the effect you’ve had on American culture," Sherman said to Corgan, known for his perpetually shaved head. "Now when people see a bald guy, they think rock star."
Corgan replied, "Sir, you’re not completely bald."
Sherman responded: "I'm not completely a rock star."
